Two of Newcastle’s leading accounting, financial and business advisory firms have joined forces to create one of city’s largest locally owned accounting and advisory firms.

The merger between Maxim and Forsythes Advisors was effective 1 July 2021, with the new entity to be known as Maxim Business Advisors.

Forsythes Partner Kellie Wright has been appointed CEO of the new business and believes the synergies of shared values in client service, business and staff culture will create a highly dynamic and effective business.

“Forsythes and Maxim have built trusted client relationships over many years, by developing both personal and business relationships which allow us to understand what our clients really want. We then proactively provide commercial and strategic thinking to help them achieve their goals,” Kellie said.

“Both firms were looking for growth prospects and our combination will result in a much larger organisation, bringing benefits to all stakeholders, our clients, staff and referral partners.”

“The current business environment provides not only challenges but also opportunities. Our expanded team are looking forward to capitalising on these opportunities for our clients,” Kellie added.

In addition to the accounting and business advisory merger, Forsythes Financial Advisors will join Maxim’s financial planning practice, Maxim Private Clients, renowned for its innovative and strategic advice. “Our team is truly excited about the new opportunities this merger brings”, said MPC CEO Scott Norrish.
